Rain today
It feels as though has finally settled in here in Southern Illinois. Today has been a dreary, chilly, rainy day.
I won’t complain - the rain is welcome as the vegetation does need a drink.
I’ve noticed the leaves on the trees are turning a bit, but not as much as expected. Weather folklore says that if the trees drop their leaves before they have turned to expect a harsh winter. I’ve seen a lot of unturned leaves falling, so I don’t know if that counts.
In addition, I’ve noticed the critters are starting to pick up in their eating and their coats are thickening up.
I guess we’ll take whatever weather God sends to us but I don’t like winter weather. Last year we had some ice storms that stranded us inside for a few days and I’m hoping we don’t get more of that.
The rain today has forced us inside for the day. It’s supposed to be nicer tomorrow - but I think the temperatures are supposed to stay cool and autumnal.
This puts me in the mood for hot apple cider and a weiner roast.
Hmmm - maybe I need to start planning that!
