November 3-8 Special Days
I have found that I enjoy blogging about fun and special days and it seems as though a few readers enjoy these posts as well.
So here’s this week’s round of special days that I’ve chosen to feature.
This week in history:
November 1, 1914 - the bra was patented - oh joy!
November 3, 1952 - Clarence Birdseye first marketed frozen peas - and what an industry he got started!
November 6, 1860 - Abraham Lincoln was elected President of the United States.
November 8, 1933 - President Franklin Delano Roosevevelt formed the Civil Works Administration to help create jobs for millions of workers unemployed during the Great Depression.
November 8, 1950 - My Dad (Buckwheat) was born - Happy Birthday Dad!
Don’t forget that November 4 is Election Day. November 3 would be a really good day to devote to prayer.
Not only does November have one of my favorite “forgotten” holidays in it (Thanksgiving - which gets overlooked between the gluttonous Halloween and commercialized Christmas) - you know, Turkey Day, more accurately known as Thanksgiving, but it is also Peanut Butter Lovers Month. That sounds wonderful to me. I love peanut butter! One of my specialties during the holidays is my peanut butter pie recipe that I have tweaked and perfected. Perhaps I’ll share the recipe later on.
Enjoy your week!
