Spears Art Studio is a great addition to homeschooling
I recently had the opportunity to try out for review a really cool art curriculum from Spears Art Studio - It’s K-8 Christian Art CurriculumĀ from Diane Spears of Spears Art Studio.
It comes on a CD with printable PDF’s for each lesson. The lessons are set up to be month-specific and can be started at any time during your school year.
The art lessons are fun and easy to understand and present - even if you have no art background. Some of the projects are craft projects while others are drawing - there’s a wide range of art presented.
The great thing about it is that the program is geared toward Christian homeschoolers who want a little more Biblical meat mixed in with their art. There are scripture verses to go along with the lessons. You don’t need a lot of extra special materials to do the projects - you will probably have everything sitting around the house already (I think the only thing I had to buy was a bottle of Elmer’s Glue All and a new package of fine-tipped markers).
There is also a high school curriculum available and the website offers free sample pages and lessons as a great way to “try before you buy.”
The price for the K-8 curriculum is $39.95 for the cd and $29.95 for the high school curriculum. These curricula can also be bought in hard copy form if you’d prefer.
If you’re looking for a fun way to add art to your homeschooling, check out Spears Art Studio - I’m certainly impressed!
